Special Ticket Checking Drive by Howrah Division Yields Significant Results

The Howrah Division of Eastern Railway conducted a special ticket checking drive on today as part of its continuous efforts to curb ticketless travel and ensure strict adherence to railway travel rules.

During the operation, a dedicated team comprising 19 Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs)and 7 Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel carried out vigilant ticket checks at Howrah, Belur, Bally, and Konnagar stations. The checking was conducted systematically, covering both train compartments and station premises.

The drive led to the detection of 317 cases of ticket irregularities, out of which 276 cases involved passengers travelling without valid tickets. As a result of the special checking, the division collected a total revenue of ₹ 1,33,390 through penalties imposed on the offenders.

Howrah Division urges all passengers to always travel with proper and valid tickets to avoid inconvenience and penalties. The division has also informed that such special ticket checking drives will continue to be conducted at regular intervals to promote lawful travel and safeguard the interests of genuine passengers.
