Santy Sharma Questions Viral ‘Cockroach Janta Party’ Movement, Says “India Needs Solutions, Not Social Media Chaos”

Rapper and singer Santy Sharma has entered the ongoing national conversation around the viral Cockroach Janta Party,(CJP) movement after posting a lengthy statement on social media questioning the intentions and impact of the online trend.

The artist, known for his outspoken opinions on social and internet culture, criticised what he called the blind support culture, developing around viral political content online. His statement quickly went viral across Instagram and X, with thousands of users debating his remarks.

In the post, Santy Sharma claimed that many young users are following online movements emotionally without researching the people behind them. Referring to the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, the rapper alleged that the individual had earlier connections with political circles and had previously shared content critical of India.

He further argued that while criticism of governments is normal in a democracy, pushing Gen Z audiences towards aggressive protest culture inspired by unrest seen in neighbouring countries could create instability instead of progress.

India needs discussions around employment, education, infrastructure and growth not online chaos driven by trends,Santy Sharma reportedly wrote in his statement._

The rapper also raised concerns regarding the social media audience supporting the movement. According to him, a significant portion of engagement on related Instagram pages appeared to come from users outside India, including Pakistan and Bangladesh, which he suggested could indicate coordinated propaganda or foreign narrative amplification.

The statement comes amid explosive growth of the Cockroach Janta Party, movement, which has become one of the biggest youth-driven online discussions in India. The satirical political collective gained popularity through memes, anti-establishment commentary, and criticism of unemployment, inflation, exam pressure, and governance issues.

Within days, the movement reportedly crossed millions of followers online and sparked heated debates among politicians, creators, influencers, and students. Supporters view the movement as a voice for frustrated youth, while critics argue that it promotes negativity, outrage politics, and internet-driven instability.

Santy Sharmas comments have now added another layer to the controversy. While many users praised him for speaking about digital manipulation and national stability, others accused the rapper of ignoring genuine concerns faced by unemployed and financially struggling youth.

Several political leaders have also reacted to the movement in recent weeks. BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar described the trend as potentially linked to cross-border influence operations, while opposition voices argued that the movement reflects the emotional reality of Indias younger generation.
