Central Railway Alert Ticket Checking staff saves life with his daring act of bravery

John Paul, Commercial Clerk cum Ticket Collector (CCTC), Mumbai Division, Central Railway displayed incredible act of bravery and saved a passenger from harm.

Paul was on duty at Kurla station on 07.02.2026. At 12.30 hrs a CSMT bound local train stopped at Kurla and started moving again. As it picked up a little speed, an elderly lady who was trying to board the running train slipped and fell on the platform.Paul on seeing this immediately rushed to help and pulled the lady away from the moving train to safety and saved the passenger from harm. In the process he suffered a minor shoulder sprain.

The lady named Baby Bhaskar Gaikar who was in a state of trauma, was comfortably seated in the TC Office, offered water and counselled. A relative was informed and the lady was sent home safely.Baby Bhaskar was overcome with emotion as she thanked John Paul and the Railway administration.

John Paul,who has given a unique example of alertness, daring and presence of mind in saving the life of the passenger has set an example for others to follow and fulfil their duty of being a dedicated Railway employee and a kind human being.

Central Railway acknowledges the exemplary act of bravery of John Paul in saving the life of the passenger. Various alert and brave railway men and women are working 24*7 to ensure smooth and safe travel of millions of passengers.

Railways appeals to its passengers to avoid boarding or de-boarding running trains as it is dangerous to life.
