NFR Conducts Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir Across Divisions

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) organized a series of Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivirs on 18th September, 2025, across various stations, hospitals, health units, and railway colonies with the aim of promoting health, safety, and welfare of Safai Mitras, both departmental and contractual.

The initiatives included medical camps, health check-ups, health education, counselling sessions, distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE), and awareness programmes. Protective gears such as gloves, masks, and safety jackets were distributed among the Safai Mitras, along with live demonstrations on their proper use and storage.

At Guwahati, a health camp was organized at the Health Unit where ACM/GHY personally distributed PPE kits to Safai Mitras. Similar camps were organized at Badarpur, Lumding, Dibrugarh Town, Hojai, Naharlagun, Rangiya, Dimapur, Maibang and Maligaon Railway Colony. In Maligaon and Dibrugarh, along with health check-ups, sessions on health education and counselling were also conducted. At Firoj Shah Colony, Malda Town, a dedicated health camp was arranged for colony residents.

Alongside the safety camps, Swachhata Pledge and Swasth Nari Sashakta Parivar Abhiyan were undertaken at Maibang and Dimapur with active participation of railway staff from medical, electrical, engineering, and traffic departments.

NFR remains committed to the health, safety, and empowerment of its frontline sanitation workers and railway staff, recognizing their invaluable contribution in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the railway network.
