A Joint team of Central Railway & Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation(MRVC) Ltd, successfully carried out work of launching of 7 Girders in a record time of 2 hours & 10 minutes in spite of incessant rains.

The team consisting of around 100 railway personnel and contractual workers, along with technically competent Supervisors and Officers having adequate experience worked collaboratively in pouring rain from 01.15 hrs of 17.8.2025 (Saturday/Sunday mid-night) to 03.15 hrs of 17.8.2025(Sunday early morning), for construction of 12 meters wide Foot Over Bridge(FOB) at Bhandup station.

A block was undertaken on the Up & Down Fast lines and 5th & 6th line during mid-night hours so as to not affect movement of mail & express and suburban train services during the day. The work involved use of 450 MT Crane and Hydra Cranes.

The work of launching of Girders is in itself an extremely difficult task involving extremely challenging environment, and heavy rains making it even more challenging. The team of CR and MRVC have demonstrated a fine example of working diligently with precision and dedication for the successful completion of this challenging work within the planned time span.
