HOWRAH DIVISION STEPS UP DRIVE TO PROMOTE UTS MOBILE APP FOR HASSLE-FREE TICKETING

In a proactive initiative to promote digital ticketing and enhance passenger convenience, Howrah Division of Eastern Railway has been conducting continuous awareness drives across the division to popularize the use of the UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) Mobile App, under the direction of the Divisional Railway Manager.

As part of this campaign, a focused outreach programme was conducted on 03.07.2025, during which teams from the Commercial Department carried out awareness drives at Chinsurah, Baidyabati, Baruipara, and Sheoraphuli stations. The teams directly engaged with passengers, guiding them on how to download and use the UTS mobile app, and explaining its benefits.

Various methods?such as posters, station announcements, digital displays, and direct interaction with passengers?are being used to educate and guide users. Railway staff are also deployed at major stations to assist and demonstrate the process to commuters, especially during peak hours.

The initiative aims to encourage passengers to adopt digital ticketing options, thereby reducing long queues at booking counters and ensuring a smoother travel experience. Through this ongoing campaign, the division is highlighting the benefits of booking unreserved tickets, season tickets, and platform tickets directly from mobile phones using the UTS App.

This campaign aligns with Indian Railways' larger vision of promoting digitalization and passenger-friendly initiatives. Passengers are encouraged to take full advantage of the UTS app for a faster, safer, and paperless ticketing experience.
