Pravinchandra N Parmar Assumes Charge as Member (Technical), Railway Claims Tribunal, Mumbai

The Railway Claims Tribunal, Mumbai, is pleased to announce that Pravinchandra N Parmar, a retired officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), 1988 batch, has assumed charge as Technical Member of the Tribunal today, on 8th May 2025.

Parmar retired in August 2023 as Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM) of Western Railway, Mumbai. Under his leadership, Western Railway recorded its highest-ever revenue in 2022-23 and received the Railway Board Trophy for Most Efficient Complaint Management.

Post-retirement, he served as an Independent Director with the Gujarat Urban Development Company Ltd., a Government of Gujarat undertaking, for one year until his present appointment.

Hailing from Village Lunva in Kheralu Tehsil, in Gujarat Shri Parmar was born and brought up in Siddhpur, Patan district. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IGNOU.

With an illustrious 33-year career in the Indian Railways, Shri Parmar has held various roles in Operations, Commercial, Safety, and General Administration. He has also served as faculty at the National Academy of Indian Railways, and on deputation as Chief Regional Manager, IRCTC, Ahmedabad.

His professional development includes training from esteemed institutions such as LBSNAA Mussoorie, IIM Ahmedabad, ISB Hyderabad, INSEAD Singapore, and ICLIF, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Parmar is a two-time recipient of the General Manager Efficiency Medal and has won first prize in the Rail Mantri Hindi Nibandh Pratiyogita in 2004, 2015, and 2019.
