RPF SEALDAH RECOVERS 28.791 KG NARCOTICS DURING OPERATION NARCOS

In its continued efforts to curb the transport of illegal narcotics through railway premises, Eastern Railway has intensified surveillance and enforcement under its focused drive,Operation Narcos.As part of this initiative, a major seizure was made at Sealdah station on Monday.

On 24.11.2025, RPF officials of the Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB)/Sealdah, now designated as Directive Wing (DW), along with Sealdah Main Post, apprehended two male individuals from Train No. 13174 Down Kanchanjunga Express at Sealdah station. During the search, the team recovered 28.791 kg of a narcotic substance (suspected to be Ganja) valued at approximately Rs 14,39,550.

The accused persons, along with the seized narcotics, were immediately handed over to GRPS/Sealdah. The Government Railway Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and initiated further investigation.

This successful operation reflects Eastern Railway?s firm commitment to ensuring a safe and crime-free railway environment by preventing the misuse of trains and stations for illegal activities.
