Under the leadership of Medical Director Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Handu, the "Swastha Nari Swastha Parivar Abhiyan" was organized at Central Hospital, North Central Railway, Prayagraj. On Today, a screening and awareness program for breast cancer and cervical cancer was organized for women. In this program, Divisional Medical Officer Dr. Shalini gave a power point presentation on screening for breast cancer and cervical cancer and explained that early symptoms can be detected even without advanced laboratory facilities using cost-effective screening methods like HPV vaccination and VIA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid). She also made women aware about its prevention and treatment. In this program, Additional Chief Health Director Dr. Usha Yadav (Nodal Officer SNSPA) said that early detection and regular screening can save lives. Pap smear tests were conducted on women in the program. Addressing the gathering, Medical Director Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Handoo appreciated the importance of the program and emphasized on Breast Cancer Awareness Month, cervical cancer prevention, HPV vaccination, and screening methods like mammogram or VIA test, to encourage women to self-examine and seek medical help. The aim is to educate women about breast and cervical cancer and motivate them to adopt early screening and preventive measures, thereby reducing mortality rates.
