Central Railway General Manager felicitates Divyangjan Railway Employees on “दिव्यांगजनों के लिए खास दिवस” organised by Central Railway

GM presents Special Divyang-friendly equipments to Divyangjan employees and Divyangjan ward of employee

Vivek Kumar Gupta, General Manager, Central Railway felicitated Divyangjan Railway Employees with Role Model Awards as part of दिव्यांगजनों के लिए खास दिवस at a function organised by the Personnel Department of Central Railway under the aegis of Central Staff Benefit Fund (CSBF) at CSMT auditorium on 10 December.
The award consisting of a Memento & Certificate were presented to 16 Divyangjans for rendering outstanding services in spite of their disabilities and setting an example for others to follow. 9 Divyangjans from Mumbai Division were felicitated by the General Manager while 7 Divyangjans from other Divisions will be felicitated by the Divisional Railway Managers of their Divisions on behalf on the General Manager. This arrangement will save the Divyangjans and families the trouble of travelling all the way to Mumbai.Gupta, General Manager & Chief Guest of the function also presented Divyang friendly equipments to 3 Divyangjan Railway Employees including Laptops (with special user friendly software) to 2 employees and large magnifying glass with light to 1 employee.
The General Manager also presented a pair of Crutches to Divangjan ward of Railway Employee.
The General Manager gave an inspiring and motivating speech on the occasion. Quoting Gautam Buddha & Stephen Covey, he said the biggest Victory is Victory over Self. Divyangjans have already achieved this victory considering that they are standing on the same platform as others having overcome numerous challenges to reach this position. He also said that Central Railway will always stand by Divyangjan, taking all possible steps to empower them by providing the necessary tools to enhance their capabilities and ease their daily activities including provision of special facilities in their place of work.
The function started in the traditional way with दीप प्रज्वलन.P P Pandey, Principal Chief Personnel Officer & Chairman, CSBF welcomed the Dignitaries with plant saplings and presented the Welcome speech.
Artists of the Central Railway Cultural Academy presented a cultural programme which included performances by Divyangjan artistes too.

The event concluded with words of encouragement from senior officials and a renewed commitment from Central Railway to continue its initiatives towards the well-being of 1240 Divyangjan employees on its roll at Headquaters, all 5 divisions, Construction Organisation and Workshops.

Pratik Goswami, Additional General Manager, Other Principal Head of Departments,Hiresh Mina, Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai Division, Officers and Staff of Central Railway were also present at the function.
