General Manager presents Safety Award to 10 employees of Central Railway

Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager, Central Railway felicitated 10 Central Railway employees i.e. 6 from Mumbai Division, 2 from Solapur Division and 1 each from Nagpur & Pune Divisions, with Safety Award in a function held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai on today

The Safety awards were presented in recognition of the respective employee?s alertness during duty, their contribution in averting untoward incidents and ensuring safety in train operations during the previous months. Each award consists of a medal, commendation certificate, a citation of exemplary safety work and cash prize of ₹ 2000/-.

Details of the Awardees

Mumbai Division

1 N Prasad, Motorman, Kalyan, Mumbai division, while working on Khopoli local KP-1 on 30.07.2025, felt an unusual jerk at kms 74/26 and stopped the train. Close inspection revealed a broken rail head. He immediately informed all concerned thus helping avert a potential mishap.

2.Gangesh Kumar, Train Manager, CSMT, Mumbai division, while working on Dombivli local DL-10 on 31.07.2025, noticed a track maintainer waving & running on the tracks at kms 41/0. Sensing danger, Shri Gangesh Kumar took immediate steps to halt Kalyan local no K-71 coming on the Down Fast line. The track Maintainer had detected a rail fracture at kms 41/0 on the Diva-Mumbra section. Shri Gangesh Kumars? alertness and sharp thinking helped prevent a potential mishap.

3.Vinod Kalu Mhatre, Track Maintainer, Kalyan, Mumbai division, while on duty on 31.07.2025 on the Diva-Mumbra section, noticed a rail fracture at kms 41/0. He took immediate steps to protect the track and informed all concerned thus helping avert a potential mishap

4.Naresh Vasant Ghare, Track Maintainer, Karjat, Mumbai division, while on monsoon patrolling duty on 19.06.2025, noticed dislocation of track formation. He took immediate steps to protect the track and informed all concerned thus helping avert a potential mishap

5.Ram Anant Mune, Track Maintainer, Neral, Mumbai division, while on duty on 03.07.2025, noticed a rail fracture at kms 77/14 on the Badlapur-Vangani section. He took immediate steps to protect the track and informed all concerned thus helping avert a potential mishap

6.Vishal Bansode, Electric Signal Maintainer(ESM) , Kalva, Mumbai division, while on signal maintainance duty on 26.06.2025, noticed a rail fracture at kms 36/140. He took immediate steps and informed all concerned thus helping avert a potential mishap

Solapur Division

7.Manish Kumar, Technician (TRD), Kurduwadi, Solapur division, on 06.07.2025, during Foot Plate Inspection noticed a broken G-Jumper of the Over Head Equipment(OHE) at kms 280/10-12 on the Boribel-Malthan section. He immediately informed all concerned thus helping avert a potential mishap

8.Vikas Kumar Pandit, Technician (TRD), Latur, Solapur division, on 22.07.2025, during Inspection at Harangul Yard, noticed unusual movement of the pantograph of a Goods train. Close inspection of the same revealed a big dent on the pantograph plate. He immediately informed all concerned thus helping avert a potential mishap

Nagpur Division

9.Nilesh, Pointsman, Malkhed, Nagpur division, while on duty on 01.08.2025, during exchange of signals with a Goods train, noticed a hot axle in one of the wagons. He immediately showed red flag and informed the Station Master. His alertness helped avert a possible mishap.

Pune Division

10.Vishwamitra Kumar Yadav, Technician (C&W), Daund, Pune division, on 15.08.2025, during rolling in examination of a goods train, noticed something unusual about the CBC Coupling of a wagon. Close examination revealed a boken yoke. He immediately informed all concerned thus helping avert a potential mishap.
